Fast water of clean gravely streams
Nymph
Fish the pockets with a weighted nymph.
Emerger
Plueralis nymphs hatch on the bottom then float to the surface. Emerger patterns wet fly are very effective.
Dun
Fish the pocket water and converging currents with Quill Gordon or compara dun. After plueralis begins hatching, fishing can be good even during early season snow squalls. Look for trout in the pools early in the season.
Spinner
Use full spent patterns in the fast runs and pocket water.
