FISHING TIPS
- Water Type
- Heavy hatches on most Eastern Trout waters.
- Nymph
- Nymphs shed their shucks in the surface film. Float imitations dead drift in fast water. Apply slight action in slow water pulling the nymph up from the bottom.
- Emerger
- Emerger patterns should be fished just below or floating in the surface film.
- Dun
- Smaller trout will move to attack the floating duns. Keep watch for large trout feeding on station. Cast so that your fly drifts directly over them. The best imitations are comparaduns or the Hendrickson.
- Spinner
- Spinner falls occur progressively later as the weather warms. Be well prepared for the spinners as the action while heavy, lasts only a short time. Wade close to good currents. Drag free drifts are essential.
